When making one of the largest financial decisions of your life, how do you consider which agent should guide you to buy or sell your home? An agent should have certain qualities that set them apart from the rest. When hiring a doctor or a lawyer, would you hire the cheapest or would you invest in paying for a well-qualified professional? Here are some traits that your real estate agent should possess in order to ensure a smooth and successful experience.
There are hundreds and hundreds of agents out there, wanting YOUR business. Some agents will look at you as just another sale under their belt, and will say or do anything to get you there. They don’t care about the smart or right decision to take in a transaction. You want an HONEST real estate agent that does not just care about getting your listing or a quick sale, but that cares about guiding you to make smart decisions and building a long lasting relationship. You don’t want an agent to sugar-coat something or hide anything from you, even if it’s an ugly truth or if it results in turning you away from a house. You want them to have your best interest in mind by being totally honest and truthful.
Every single real estate transaction is it’s own animal! They are all different with their own hurdles and once you’ve been through hundreds and hundreds of transactions, experience comes naturally. With experience comes knowledge of the market trends, local activity, pricing and getting you the best possible deal. Once you’re established as an agent in the area, other agents know who you are and take offers from you seriously – if you have a good reputation. With experience comes the confidence in writing strong offers, pricing homes to sell and guiding you to fully achieve your real estate goals.
So many agents in the industry don’t answer their phones, respond to emails or call you back in a timely matter, if at all. Communication is KEY to having a transaction succeed! Agents need to communicate with the clients constantly to make sure they are on track with their timelines and are aware of every step of the process. Agents need to be in contact with the agent on the other end of the deal, inspectors, appraiser, lender, title company and make sure all these moving parts are together! Being prompt to answer the phone, respond to texts quickly, return messages, emails etc. is a pertinent factor in getting things done.
Hard Work –
Finding a home for a buyer is not easy. Finding a buyer for a home is not easy. It takes a LOT of hard work to find homes within the client’s criteria, schedule appointments, go view the homes, write an offer, to even get accepted! Many times it takes at least a try or two of failed offers before one is accepted. One needs to maintain perseverance and stay positive! When selling a home, that is tough work as well! From scheduling professional cleaners, carpet cleaners, signpost company, stagers, photographer, videographer, etc, it takes a LOT of elbow grease to make a home sparkle and show-ready. You don’t want a lazy agent “helping” you with one of the most important, potentially stressful transitions in your life.
These are all qualities that are engrained into the core of my business. Those who know me know that I am 100% honest. I will tell you if a home is worth your money or not, as if it is my own money. I have the experience of 14 years of real estate under my belt. I usually know how much a home is worth without even visiting it! My past clients will tell you, I answer the phone at almost all hours of the day. Not that I want that 11pm call, but I have been known to answer in the past for distressed clients! Lastly, I wouldn’t be where I am today without hard work. I started from the bottom and built my business into what it is today. I’ve held the # 1 Top Agent position in my office for the past 6 consecutive years for one reason and one reason alone – HARD WORK. With all of these traits engrained in my soul I am excited to help you attain your real estate goals and get you the house of your dreams, or sell that house you’ve been needing to move out of. Please give me a call as your local expert, and give me the opportunity to serve you as your LOCAL EXPERT! (925) 415-0835
