San Ramon Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair: We have nature to thank for all of the beautiful hills and mountains surrounding us, providing a perfect condition to live and thrive in. What a desirable place to call home! The mountains formed from earthquakes, rain and flood brought ideal conditions to farm in this valley – which used to be this area’s main source of business. Fires made the soil fertile with nutrients allowing new vegetation to grow. However, when natural events such as earthquakes, fires, rain or other hazards exceed our local resources, it can become an emergency and disaster.
San Ramon has plans set in place to respond to a natural disaster if local resources are overwhelmed. Citizens and businesses must be prepared so in case of such event, we can recover together as a community. It takes a collaborative partnership between the city’s preparedness and actions taken on by the citizens, employees and employers. We have the Emergency Preparedness Fair tomorrow, Saturday 9/24 as an opportunity for families to learn important information on what you should know, how you should act and what to expect during a natural disaster. Resources that may be used will be on display. The city of San Ramon works closely with the Town of Danville, SRVUSD, SRV Fire Protection District and Contra Costa County to organize this fair and create a positive plan of action.
Come to this family event, enjoy the local food truck or bring a picnic! Take the time to learn how you can help your family, respond to an incident and help the community be reliant and proactive in the face of the next disaster!
