San Ramon’s Brand New Bella Vista Elementary School Opens Fall 2016! Located at: 1050 Trumpet Vine Lane, San Ramon, CA 94582 and in close proximity to the new homes in San Ramon.
The San Ramon Valley Unified School District is all set to open it’s 36th school – Bella Vista Elementary! This school is scheduled for an opening in the 2016-2017 school year and this is great news for current residents and future residents of San Ramon.
Most noteworthy is that the school is built over a 7.4 acre site. Bella Vista is built to accommodate as many as 830 transitional kindergarten students through 5th grade students. Welcome, Bella Vista Trailblazers!
Furthermore, Bella Vista School is host to:
- Academic Talent Program (ATP)
- Transitional Kindergarten
- Special Education
- General Education students.
In addition,the school features:
- A “Maker Space” and library
- Two 2 story classroom building
- Multi-use building
- Large play field equipped for soccer and softball.
School Colors: Black, Tan and Red.
Students in grades 1st-5th will attend school from 8:30am to 3pm.
The Maker Movement provides an opportunity to transform education. It invites students to be something other than consumers of education.
The Principal, Barb Mallon, was the former principal at Twin Creeks Elementary. Her noteworthy credentials are especially relevant to this position:
- She has been educating for more than 30 years
- Has been a general education and special education teacher
- An instructional assistant
- Director of curriculum and instruction
- A gifted and talented education (GATE) coordinator.

Project Launch is the elementary pathway of the middle and high school program Project Lead the Way. The program focuses on activity, project and problem based STEM curriculum.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation has given Bella Vista Elementary a grant to provide Project Launch teacher training.

Due to the fact that the schools in the area have been impacted,therefore the opening of this school will finally give relief to the other schools in the area.
For many years, Hidden Hills elementary, Live Oak elementary and Quail run elementary were impacted and with the new school that pressure will be alleviated.
